Gilas Cadets won against the team from Indonesia during the 28th Southeast Asian Games' men’s basketball finals on Monday, June 15, at the the OCBC Arena in Singapore. The score is 72-64 in favor of the Philippine basketball team.
The Philippine team was led by Far Eastern University (FEU) standout Mark Belo who contributed 22 points for the team.
This championship was the Philippines' 11th straight gold medal and 17th win in the history of SEA GAMES basketball. It was also the country's 29th gold in the Singapore Games.
Meanwhile, Malaysia earned the gold medal after beating the team from Indonesia who also got for silver. Thailand placed 3rd.
